Our grading for committees is focused on how well delegates act in five key areas: participation, representation, use of procedure, unmoderated caucus participation, diplomatic composure.

While participation does focus on how often delegates are speaking, the quality of the speech is much more important. A speech with little to no substance will not count nearly as much as a speech that demonstrates a clear point and furthers the debate.

Country faithfulness is one of our most valued metrics. Delegates are graded on their ability to represent their countries' views - not their own worldview. Delegates must understand their countries’ policies and have an informed understanding of who the allies in their specific committee are regarding the committee’s issue at hand.

Use of procedure is focused on how well the delegate understands their committees’ roles, regulations, and parliamentary procedure.

Unmoderated caucus participation is graded on a delegate’s ability to contribute to discussion and working papers effectively.

Diplomatic composure is based on delegates’ ability to use third person, yield time, and most importantly, stay in character as if they were truly a diplomat in the United Nations.
